HPH Status (Health Promotion) Health promotion is one of the main policies embedded in the organizational performance. The examples of activities are anti-smoking, reduction of serum lipid profiles, regular exercise campaign and regular physical check-up among workforce. Not only are faculty staffs, personnel and customers included, but also medical students are invited to join and created their own programs. The anti-smoking program, for example, composes of declaration of “smoke-free hospital” policy by senior leaders, establishing a smoking cessation unit, and a five-day self-help group program for staff. The persons who can quit smoking successfully are recognized by leaders and other staff and invited to be role models and facilitators for the subsequent programs. For regular exercise, we implement a simple way to exercise during working. The stair climbing and rapid walk, for instance, are promoted within the hospital. We encourage faculty staff and students to exercise in Wednesday afternoon at our gym. The serum lipid reduction programs are shown in terms of meeting and research.
